What is Going Electric, Going Clean? What is it for?

It’s a simple “storymap” site featuring a map of examples of projects and programs around the country where buildings are being built or retrofitted all-electric. Each pin on the map contains source links and a short blurb with details and sometimes quotes about the cost-effectiveness, health, or efficiency benefits. Everything is in the public domain. The goal of this site is to help journalists, officials, community leaders and advocates understand that the solution-side to concerns about gas isn’t scary or uncertain or newfangled — but rather happening already, proven, popular and coast-to-coast. There is also a brief section with links to some additional graphics, videos and explainers.

How to use the site

  • Share it with elected officials, energy agency staff, journalists, advocates, community leaders and more. Below you’ll find a sample email and social media content to help you distribute the map and connect with your audiences.
  • Hyperlink to it in press releases, blogs, fact sheets and web pages — anywhere you want the reader to be able to readily access some examples of the building electric solution.
  • Pull details or quotes or links from the examples in the map into op-eds or fact sheets or other materials you’re producing.
  • Link to it in social shares.
  • Pull it up in meetings or during presentations to provide a snapshot for your audience of some of the projects afoot.
