Cristian is obsessed with finding the gaps in our data to harness the power of community, message, and technology to accelerate action on social issues. Cristian approaches data with an equity lens that first acknowledges that the most vulnerable, marginalized groups of society are often not represented in our data. Cristian has eight years of data analytics experience with a combined background in engineering, organizing, and communications. Currently, his work involves audience research, gathering data from disparate sources, and unearthing insights across issues, topics, and events.
Before joining Resource Media, Cristian was the data director at the Digital Climate Coalition, a digital communications nonprofit, where he wrangled data across multiple organizations and into a single dataset leading to the development of cross-coalition dashboards and benchmarks. His work at the coalition also included data gathering and reporting for issue areas in immigration and environmental justice. He has contributed to the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, Climate Advocacy Lab, Climate Nexus, The YEARS Project, and more. Previously, he worked as a congressional organizer and, before that, as an engineer, where he was constantly searching for ways to combine the two, eventually leading to his current path today.
