EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

Javier Solís is a cultural strategist with experience working at the intersections of digital marketing, movement building, and public policy. In their career, Javier has worked across non-profit, corporate, tech, and philanthropic industries to develop strategic communication campaigns on a variety of social issue areas. Prior to Resource Media, they worked with national and state health departments to develop engaging and culturally relevant public health campaigns for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) audiences that identify as LGBTQI+. Javier’s approach to multi-faceted, intersectional storytelling is deeply inspired from their lived experiences as a first-generation, trans masculine activist raised in Los Angeles, CA.

Highlights & Background

Javier has a B.A. in International Relations as well as a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Southern California. One of their most notable achievements, however, is being selected as 1 of 15 Fulbright Binational Business Fellows by the U.S. State Department. In this capacity, Javier obtained an MBA from the prestigious Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) while also working full time at México Media Lab - a binational, boutique consulting firm in Mexico City. While there, they led legislative research for the International Finance Corporation's (IFC) Tech Emerge Program - a program to develop sustainable cooling models throughout México.

In their spare time you can find them performing in their alter ego as a drag king, taking their doodle to the beach, and making TERFS cry.
