The pandemic has forced many of our groups and coalitions who have done much of our work in-person to fully virtual and online overnight. We now need to consider what has made our in-person community meetings effective and identify ways to recreate engaging, inclusive versions online that continue to help us get the necessary work done while also serving the need to build relationships and care for our colleagues virtually.
In response, Resource Media’s facilitation trainers have developed a new online training “Introductions to virtual meetings and equitable facilitation techniques.” We have built 60-minute or 2-hour training modules where we share — and participants practice — a variety of techniques for how to conduct engaging, accessible and equitable virtual meetings. We will share best practices from how to make tough decisions in an online setting to how to help encourage the most productive involvement from participants experiencing additional strain during these tough times.
If you would like to learn more or discuss how to develop a training customized to your group or coalition’s needs, please reach out to Liz Banse at Resource Media, liz@resource-media.org.
