A lump of coal for Andrew Wheeler

A Lump of Coal for Andrew Wheeler

For the week of December 17, 2018

We encourage you to participate at any time that is convenient for your organization.

Purpose of this toolkit

Our Washington communities benefit from the local investments made through federal funding – from clean air, drinking water and healthy salmon populations to pollution reduction and flood prevention. The purpose of this December Shared Action is to remind Acting EPA Administrator and Trump appointee, Andrew Wheeler, that we are tracking his rollbacks to federal clean water protections and we want him to champion clean water.

Wheeler, a former coal lobbyist, along with Scott Pruitt before him, have been quietly working to undo EPA regulations that protect our communities from pollution since taking office. In just a few months since he has stepped up as Acting Administrator, Wheeler has taken significant steps to replace the Clean Water Rule, along with every major Obama-era climate regulation and several other pollution prevention measures. Let’s use our collective voice to send a clear message that this is unacceptable. Clean water supports our health, livelihoods, and many local cultures. By collectively take action, we can amplify our voices.
