As part of the Energy Media team, Kimberly brings her expertise in writing, strategic planning, media relations, and public relations to climate change and clean energy communications. She believes the use of language in storytelling is instrumental in creating powerful messages for environmental and social change, and works with advocates in the Midwest to create impactful stories that lead to action. Whether it's for strategic planning or crisis communications, Kimberly is an expert in how words and language can diffuse a situation or empower the message at hand.

Highlights & Background

Kimberly has more than 20 years of marketing and communications experience, working with agencies, small businesses and nonprofit organizations. She worked for the City of Rockford, Illinois, in Mayor Larry Morrissey’s administration, where she established and took on the dual role of the city’s first strategic communications manager and public information officer for the Rockford Police Department. It was here she also spearheaded Rockford Day, a community-wide celebration to support and promote economic development and pride in Rockford. Kimberly has a love for books and fine arts as a means of escape, and indulges in getting to experience and learn different perspectives. She has a passion for travel, theater, and music.
