Development Manager (Seattle Office)
Overview:
Resource Media, a leading environmental communications non-profit, is seeking a new member of our development team. As our Development Manager you will be responsible for leading the proposal writing and reporting process and helping to implement other fundraising strategies. This includes the development of case studies, project briefs and other tools that help secure the funding needed for current and future Resource Media endeavors. This is a full-time job based in Seattle, WA and reports to the Development Director.

We serve as both the strategic brain and the implementation arm of our partners. Our team has helped shape media coverage of environmental issues in international, national, regional and local outlets, across all types of media platforms. Job Responsibilities:
The position is critical to ensuring the development function at Resource Media is on task and moving forward. In addition to the Development Director, you will work with people at all levels of the organization, especially team leads, project directors and support staff. The core job responsibilities include:
• Preparing grant proposals and reports, which includes writing original content, editing and revising content submitted from teams and proof-reading. The goal is ensure the information meets the requirements of the funder while also telling a compelling story about our work and accomplishments
• Gathering other relevant information for reports and proposals and ensuring documents are submitted in a timely fashion.
• Creating and maintaining tools and systems that support the business development function at Resource Media.
• Identifying and researching prospective funders and partners.
• Drafting other fundraising materials such as case studies, project briefs and other tools that help market Resource Media’s programs and capabilities to target audiences.
• Managing the annual calendar of development activities, which includes coordinating the schedule of reports and proposals to foundations and partners.
• Coordinating the implementation and maintenance of new CRM system and other development tracking systems, including inputting data and producing reports.
• Ensuring a range of administrative tasks that support the development function are completed such as scheduling meetings, taking and distributing notes from development calls, processing grant awards, and writing thank you notes and other related tasks.

Operations Manager (San Francisco Office)
Overview:
Resource Media seeks an operations manager with bookkeeping experience for our San Francisco office. This position will report to the CFO and have responsibility for accounts payable/receivable, payroll, human resources and office administration, board correspondence and facilities management. Candidates should be capable of handling multiple projects, demonstrate strong communications skills, and be a resourceful problem-solver.
Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping
• Process vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursement requests in a timely manner and maintain filing system for paid items.
• Monitor accounts receivables, generate customer invoices, and contact clients for payment as needed. Maintain filing system for client contracts and paid invoices.
• Record grant and contract revenue according to GAAP.
• Process monthly time-reporting data and allocate staff costs to projects.
Board Correspondence
• Coordinate logistics for quarterly Board Meetings including assembling meeting materials and making travel arrangements.
• Serve as point-person for all general board correspondence.
• Prepare orientation materials for new board members.
Organization Administration
• Orient and train the new office staff in office procedures.
• Function as facility manager of the office, including liaison with building management and vendors.
• Responsible for purchasing and maintaining office equipment and office/program supplies.
Human Resources Administration
• Maintain employee files and process payroll.
• Process with employee benefits such as health insurance enrollment, retirement plan contributions, and sick and vacation accruals.
• Maintain Performance Review calendar and follow-up with supervisors on completion of performance review forms.
Qualifications
• 3-5 years of non-profit Office Administration or Bookkeeping experience.
• B.A. from accredited college.
• High degree of integrity and ethics. High professional standards.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• High-energy self-starter with friendly and caring personality.
• Time management and follow-up skills with the ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload and handle several tasks simultaneously. 
Extensive knowledge and experience with bookkeeping in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Proficient in all aspects of MS Office, including Entourage/Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word, in a PC/Mac environment.
